Dr. Daniel Gibney

Dr. Daniel Gibney is Assistant Professor in The Department of Computer Science at The University of Texas at Dallas.

Dr. Gibney received his Ph.D. in Computer Science at The University of Central Florida, where he focused on string algorithms and related problems in computational complexity. Following his Ph.D., Dr. Gibney received two years of postdoctoral experience at The Georgia Institute of Technology.

His research interests include:

  • Bioinformatics / Computational biology

  • Algorithm design and analysis

  • Computational complexity

  • Quantum algorithms

Dr. Gibney loves the challenge of an interesting problem, especially when the seemingly complex reveals itself as simple from a different angle.
